About Assabvision Growth Advisory

A financial partner who speaks the language of strategy, not just spreadsheets.

Assabvision is a Richmond-based growth advisory firm that helps Australian founders and leadership teams connect financial reality with the decisions they need to make next.

We sit between daily operations and the boardroom – translating numbers into stories, scenarios and trade-offs that the whole leadership team can work with.

Rooted in Melbourne, working nationwide

From our base near the Yarra River, we work with organisations across Australia through a mix of on-site sessions and structured online workshops.

Mid-market focus

We specialise in businesses that have outgrown basic reporting but are not ready for a large in-house strategy team.

Hands-on collaboration

Most of our work happens live in working sessions, not just in slide decks.

How Assabvision came to life

Assabvision was founded after years of seeing the same pattern in growing organisations: plenty of data, busy finance teams – but a leadership group that still felt “half-blind” about the future.

In many businesses, numbers are either buried in detailed reports, or presented in a way that only a few people truly understand. Important decisions are delayed, debates circle around anecdotes, and board meetings become reporting exercises instead of strategy sessions.

Our goal is simple: to build a clear bridge between your financial reality, your growth ambitions and the specific moves you can make over the next 12–24 months.

We do this by combining financial analysis, facilitation and storytelling. The result is a decision rhythm your leadership team can rely on – even when conditions change quickly.

What clients tell us they value

  • • Honest, independent thinking with no internal agenda.
  • • The ability to make complex financial ideas feel straightforward.
  • • A calm voice in the room when stakes are high.
  • • A bias towards practical action over theoretical models.

A typical Assabvision client

Many of our clients are between 20 and 250 people in size, with leadership teams that want more clarity before committing to their next chapter of growth.

Some have strong finance teams but limited strategy capacity. Others are founder-led organisations ready to professionalise decision-making without losing their agility.

Our advisory philosophy

We hold a few strong beliefs about how financial consulting should feel for leadership teams.

Numbers as a shared language

Your financial picture should be something the whole leadership team can discuss – not a private language spoken only by a CFO or accountant. We build views that invite discussion, not silence.

Clarity beats complexity

We favour clear, decision-ready views over complicated models. If a board member or manager cannot explain what a chart means in simple terms, we keep refining it.

Momentum over perfection

Waiting for the “perfect dataset” often delays important choices. We use the best available information, highlight assumptions and move forward – improving the picture over time.

How we typically work with clients

Every engagement is tailored, but most follow a rhythm that blends analysis, working sessions and support in key leadership moments.

Phase 1

Diagnostic & questions

We review your existing reporting, interview key stakeholders and map out the questions that your leadership team most needs better answers to in the next 6–12 months.

Phase 2

Design & working sessions

We build tailored views, models and facilitation material, then test them with your leadership team in structured working sessions where decisions and trade-offs are explored in real time.

Phase 3

Embedding & transition

We support the roll-out of new reporting rhythms, often joining leadership or board meetings for a period before handing over to your internal teams with clear templates and playbooks.

Engagement formats

Some clients work with us on a focused project. Others prefer an ongoing advisory relationship to support a series of growth decisions over 12–24 months.

In both cases, we agree upfront how often we meet, what we will measure and how we will recognise progress beyond just financial metrics.

Where we spend our time

  • • Financial analysis and scenario modelling
  • • Design of dashboards and board packs
  • • Facilitation of leadership workshops
  • • Preparation for key conversations with investors and lenders
  • • Building internal capability so you rely less on external support over time
Lead advisor at Assabvision Growth Advisory

Lead advisor – Alex Morgan

Founder & Principal, Assabvision Growth Advisory

Alex has worked with founders, CFOs and boards across services, technology and operational businesses, helping them connect financial clarity with practical strategy.

Experience that combines finance, strategy and facilitation

Before founding Assabvision, Alex spent more than a decade in roles spanning finance, strategy and operational leadership. That mix created a simple insight: great decisions emerge where numbers, context and people all meet.

Today, Alex’s work is split between deep analysis and live conversations. One day might be spent refining a board pack; the next in a room with a leadership team exploring the implications of a major hiring, pricing or expansion decision.

Clients value Alex’s ability to ask the difficult questions in a constructive way, and to keep conversations grounded in both data and the lived reality of their teams and customers.

What you can expect in meetings

  • • Clear walk-throughs of numbers and scenarios
  • • Time for questions and challenge
  • • A focus on decisions and next steps, not just discussion

Ways we work with your team

  • • As a sounding board for the CEO or founder
  • • Alongside your finance lead or external accountant
  • • As a facilitator in key strategy and board sessions

Is Assabvision a good fit for your organisation?

We might be a strong match if you recognise yourself in at least a few of these statements:

  • • “We have plenty of data, but our decisions still feel slower than they should be.”
  • • “Board and leadership conversations get stuck in detail instead of trade-offs.”
  • • “We want more clarity about growth options and downside risk before committing.”
  • • “We’re ready to professionalise decision-making without becoming overly bureaucratic.”

The best way to explore fit is a short, no-obligation conversation about where your business stands today and what you would like the next 12–24 months to look like.
